More With Less Today began in 2009 as a hobby when Lori Felix’s youngest was leaving for college. Lori found herself combatting “Empty Nest Syndrome” through the creation of her blog because, to her, being a mom means being helpful and answering questions all day long. With her kids out of the house, launching a blog allowed her to fulfill that sense of purpose. Growing up in a frugal home and watching her mom stretch a dollar in a hundred ways, she wanted to share both her mother’s and her own tips with friends and family, and thought a blog was the best place to organize them.

Now, Lori makes a living from something that started out with her just tearing useful money-saving tips and coupons out of magazines.

Everywhere Society Spotlight Questionnaire

  1. Your current jam is: Anything by Bruno Mars makes me dance, and anything by Adele makes me sing.
  2. Tell us about your most epic childhood birthday party. When I turned 4, my mom was in the hospital giving birth to my sister. So, my dad took me on a train, on a boat, and up in an airplane all in one day!
  3. Who’s your spirit animal? The leopard because leopard never goes out of style.
  4. Okay then, so who’s your doppelganger? I’m told it is Kathie Lee Gifford.
  5. If you had to describe your personality with a cocktail what would it be? Why? A margarita with salt on the rim. When you get to know me, I can be a little salty.
  6. The one product you absolutely cannot live without is: Coffee
  7. Shout-out to your bloggy BFF! Myrah from Coupon Mamacita who encourages me to always reach higher.
  8. What was your first concert? How was it? Three Dog Night and when I got back to my car—I think I had just gotten my driver’s license—there was a transient asleep in the back seat. It was very memorable!
  9. First album you ever owned? “Tapestry” by Carole King. It was the anthem for the women in my generation.
  10. Who’s your ultimate blogspiration? Colin Morgan of Hip2Save. She has such a loyal community. I got to meet her a few years ago, and she was as nice as could be. I was fangirling and tongue-tied.
  11. So, you’ve got writer’s block. What’s a tried and true trick for getting over it? I take a walk and listen to one of Pat Flynn’s podcasts called Smart Passive Income. I get inspired every time.
  12. What’s your number one blogging/content creation tip? Check your analytics and give the people what they are searching for.
  13. What’s been your fave Everywhere campaign to be a part of? I love working on all of your campaigns. One of the best things for me is getting to go to the Macy’s fashion shows and events because it gets me out of my yoga pants and wearing lipstick. Blogging can be isolating and lonely at times.
  14. Show off time! What’s your most popular blog or social post? One of my favorites is a post I did about my dog Buddy called “The Dog Who Rescued Me.” Both of my children are getting married next year. Yikes! The little dog my husband and I adopted has brought so much joy and laughter to our empty nest.
